So I got my new shoes today and well Ill be honest, I am sooooo not a tennis shoe girl. Wow do they make your feet look huge and clunky as if the rest of me isnt? And lets face it, if a guy can wear it I just simply dont want to :)))) Yeah yeah I know men can wear dresses and dont remind me that a whole lot of em look a whole lot better in em than I do :)))
I'm going on my first walk with my shoes after dinner. Its hot out right now and quite frankly I sweat enough hoofing it along my hilly dirt road with out the sweltering summer sun beating down on me at high noon. I'm excited though. My oldest daughter is going to go with me so it should be fun and after all that's really what I'm aiming for here. I will not push myself into another win/lose thing again in regardless to my weight loss. I think that's the biggest yo-yo of the whole diet thing. The love/hate you feel for yourself when you, or life, isn't perfect. I'm getting off that see-saw for good.
Ive learned some valuable things in the "conversations" with myself in my personal journal. This journey isn't about me losing this weight. It isn't about me getting to any goals I can measure outright. Its about over coming those feelings that cause me to hurt myself. Its about putting into balance food and movement. Its about learning new attitudes about a whole lotta things.
I did another weigh in for the contest this morning. I'm less scared now to go on camera, I'm not phased by the numbers good or bad for the most part which is a strange thing. I lost another pound. I'm down 7.5 since my entry video. I dont know how I feel about that since I had fallen into a vicious eating cycle for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and ate back a lot of weight and then with the 6 or seven lbs the Wii was weighing me wrong I seem almost where I started :))) I did start trying at a 290.5 so I guess Im down a total of 17lbs after all.
I dont even know what to say as far as what Im going to be doing for a "diet" any more because I just simply refuse to be on one. Im eating what I want, just less of it, and moving more always. I guess thats it, thats all I got. But it seems to be workin' :)

Way To Go, HB! I watched your video...you are adorable! You look great and you are doing great! I thought about video-ing myself for progression's sake and you gave me the oomph to do it.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see the video, but don't have it on my work laptop...I'll check it out later.
ReplyDeleteI know you didn't request this, but may I offer two pieces of advice? :)
Those new shoes you just got? They are your "work shoes". Don't let them stay clean and don't try to think of them as pretty. They are work shoes. Bully them. Use them. Those are the shoes that will help transform you, but they are not about cute or fashion.
Also, maybe you could ask your kids and hubby to commit to have at least one of them walk with you for 30 minutes a night. Every night. I bet they would love that time with you.
Just a few thoughts. Glad to hear you are excited.
@Al.... you should do it! You know Al I think theres still time to join the contest if you send a message to joshua. Its not really about the contest for me, its just been great meeting a whole community of ppl that are working together on some fun stuff. Josh is going to have weekly theme stuff and the contest is 12 weeks long.
ReplyDeleteI know its hard at first.... I was sick to my stomach after my first video but Im really glad I did it now. I can see from my first video a lil difference in my gopher cheeks already! :)
@Clyde.... I am planning to go with my oldest daughter. Having my hubby see my huffing puffing fat arse is sooooo not on my to-do list. There is only one area of our co existence other than child birth where the man should ever see me so outta control sweaty ;)
I know what you mean about the shoes but gall darn it cant they make cuter ones?!? :))))) I plan on working hard... but honestly I have changed my attitude about it. My walks aren't for a "work out" they are for me. They are a lil get away time. They are a way to move my body and feel good about it... I am in no way going to make myself miserable. Im just going to listen to my body on this one.... I dont know how all of this is going to pan out in the long run, and I may make adjustments along the way but for now what I am NOT doing is whats working....
Can I just say I adore you guys!!!!
No freakin way would I have ever guessed you're 37. You're a cutie patootie, HoneyB. You're zaftig and curvy and adorable.
ReplyDeleteI think the video-ing is a fantastic idea. You'll have a great visual of your transformation.
I have size 11-12 feet ... nothing looks cute for me. :(
Good points, HB. You are the best judge of what will work for you!
